The General Federation of Women's Clubs of the South Brunswick Islands (GFWC-SBI) is a chapter of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC), which is one of the world's largest and oldest non-denominational, non-partisan, International VOLUNTEER service organizations for women. The GFWC-SBI (Originally chartered as the South Brunswick Islands Woman's Club: SBIWC) received our charter from the General Federation of Women's Clubs of North Carolina (GFWC-NC) (which was then known as the NC Federation) in April 1989. Since then our club has grown from a membership of 16 to 50+ members. We are located in beautiful Brunswick County, along the southeastern North Carolina Coastline!

Message from our President
I thank you for placing your confidence and your trust in me to serve as your President for this year. I am committed to the values of our club and to our overall objective of instituting programs as set forth by the GFWC-NC and District 7 in an efficient and effective manner.
The 2016-2018 Signature Project for District 7 is the Boys & Girls Homes of NC located in Lake Waccamaw. The 2016-2018 GFWC-NC dictate is to Focus on Federation...Building our LEGACY. We are encouraging clubs to focus on the Advancement Areas which include Membership, Leadership, Advocates for Children, Domestic Violence, and Fundraising.
I sincerely thank Melon Corsini for her hard work and many achievements in 2016. Under her leadership, we acquired 7 new members, achieved approximately $ 20,000 in fundraising, and cultivated several active CSP committees with many accomplished projects. These activities have been submitted to GFWC- NC for recognition and possible awards. Lastly, Melon's kindness, grace and commitment will serve as an inspiration in the performance of my newly inherited Presidential duties and responsibilities.
My primary goal for the club this year is to seek out opportunities for community service that we can accomplish through our CSP committees. I invite you, our membership, to work with me to serve on our CSP committees and other standing committees, including assuming a leadership role as a Chair or Co - Chair.
In working together we can accomplish more than any of us can do individually. I will talk more about how we can accomplish this at our February meeting and look forward to your input in terms of your comments, concerns, suggestions and ideas.
We are all from different walks of life with varied backgrounds, education, and life experiences. However, kindness and friendship know no barriers and are here for all of us to give, receive and pass along. By doing so, you will enjoy your membership even more and participate in daily acts of citizenship.
I am proud to serve you as your 29 th President and will do my best to serve you well .
